Advisory Boards & Task Forces
Advisory boards are subject to the jurisdiction and control of the Board of County Commissioners. Members of advisory boards offer advice, recommendations, and assistance to respective County agencies and departments rather than set policies. Like those serving on governing boards, members represent a cross-section of the community and represent diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
Many citizens serve on task forces, which help study a single special issue and make recommendations for specific courses of action. The Board of County Commissioners appoints the task force members for a limited period of time. Once the special issue is addressed, the task force is disbanded.
